What is Recipe Analysis?
Recipe analysis is a process that derives the nutritional content of foods by analyzing the ingredients of your recipes and their specific measurements.
Why Should I Analyze my Recipes?
Local and state laws requiring restaurants to provide nutrition data on their menus are rapidly expanding across the United States. In May of 2009, a federal menu labeling bill was introduced in Congress.
Although most laws only impact restaurant chains with 20 or more locations, customers are beginning to expect nutrition information even from single outlet restaurants, caterers and personal chefs. Although you may not be required by law to provide nutrition information, customers are beginning to expect it, so providing it is a great point of customer service.
Analysis of your menu will also provide you with improved customer service and marketing benefits. Using the data provided in your recipe analysis, you can highlight healthy choices on your menu.

How should I prepare for analysis?
Here are some of the types of questions we will ask when preparing for your analysis:
-
What kind of ingredients do you use?
-
How much of each ingredient do you use?
-
Does your recipe contain any sub-recipes*?
-
What is the portion size?
-
What is the finished yield of your recipe?
We also offer discounts for slight modifications of recipes such as minor ingredient changes or portion size differences. Those will be determined once our RDs have evaluated the total number of recipes and any modifications.
Volume discounts are also available. Please contact us for more details.

*Many recipes are actually created through having a recipe-inside-a-recipe or sub-recipes. For analysis purposes, the total number of recipes will include all individual recipes and all “recipes-inside-a-recipe." For any recipe that is used multiple times in your end products, we would not charge a second time for the analysis of that item.
